This nation is a democratic republic with a representative government. These representatives make laws for the government of the people under the Constitution. They decide which actions are crimes and misdemeanors. Courts might decide what is constitutional, what is legal, and what is illegal. The government has recently decided that marriages are allowed between people of the same sex. This means that these "marriages" are not illegal.
However, the legislature has no authority to say that this cohabitation is not sin. Their authority does not go that far. God says it is sin. “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Cor. 6:9-10).
Note that thievery, drunkenness, greed, slander, and swindling as well as heterosexual sex outside of marriage, adultery, and homosexuality are all sins. They will not inherit the kingdom of God. Making any of these not crimes does not make them not sin.
