In recent months, I have been asked why or how have I lived this long. I have reflected on it and have come up with several answers.
• God had made work to do in me and through me.
• Inheritance: although my father died at 67, my older brother died at 67, and my next younger brother died at 67, my mother lived until she was 89.
• I did not drink or smoke.
• I jogged for thirteen years, swam laps for a couple of years after that, and walked for more years.
• I think that the main reason is that I have not been anxious for more than 60 years, although there have been temptations to be anxious.
• Walking in the light. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
I am willing to discuss any one of these. Comment here, write (jimwilson27@frontier.com) or call me (208-882-4383).
