"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.” Matthew 7:1-5
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?” Matthew 7:15, 16
“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?” 1 Corinthians 5:12
“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” Galatians 6:1
There is no contradiction in the above quotations.
1. We are to have planks removed in order to remove specks.
2. We are to be fruit inspectors, judgment makers.
3. We are to be spiritually qualified judgment makers.
4. We are to judge those inside the church.
We are not to leave specks in our brothers’ eyes. They have got to be removed. We have to be qualified to do this.
