Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:32)In the four Gospels, Jesus says, "I tell you the truth," over 60 times. What comes after that expression is always amazing. If anyone else said these things, we would think that they were not telling the truth.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)
Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! (John 8:45)
When the Holy Spirit is promised, He is called the Spirit of Truth.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17)
When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. (John 15:26)
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13)
