You May have figured out a few of my favorite verses of scripture. They include:
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all… But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin...If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:5, 7, and 9)
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him.” (Colossians 2:6)
“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” (Colossians 1:28-29)
These favorites have been expanded to include I Thessalonians 5:16-18 and Philippians 2:14.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing.” (Philippians 2:14)
My sense of responsibility includes everyone, everywhere to present everyone perfect in Christ.
This morning I have been thinking more in detail, two ways – those who are accountable to me and those for whom I am accountable.
I am accountable for all of my physical descendants and for all of my spiritual descendents and other Christians.
This includes teaching Colossians 1:25 and intercession, Colossians 1:9-12.
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.” (Colossians 1:9-12)
I have been lax in both areas but the Lord wiling, I will do both. Yell for help!
